Prototyping
7 June 2018
Ideas are easy – taking action is hard.
Our planning and preparation stages lasted longer than we anticipated, and so moving into prototyping and beginning to construct the projects, either digitally or physically, has required a mental shift. Getting started is usually the hardest part, and today each group began the work of creating, either physically or digitally, the beginnings of their projects.
Our next few sessions are focused on making – moving between prototyping, empathise, define and ideate to narrow down the focus, test options and apply knowledge. Some groups worked at computers using different programs, we had the inevitable ‘I lost my file’ and ‘I can’t logon’. The prototype/fashion group was busy with scissors and glue – our test showed that PVA glue won’t stick plastic gems to fabric, even though the packet says it will!
The robot group spent a lot of time today working with the mBots and a large map of Wagga Wagga to trace the Queen’s path. It was exciting to see part of the exhibition taking shape.
