PROBLEM SEVEN: Videogames

STEAM the Museum is an exhibition that sees junior curators from the Opportunity Class at Sturt Public School solve a real problem that the Museum of the Riverina has.

These problems were shown to the class at our first session. Each student then elected their top three problems to work on, and was placed into a group.

Time Travel and Video Games

Problem

The Museum is looking to introduce some new interpretation that engages young audiences in history. One idea they would like you to implement is to make a video game about the history of Wagga. In this game, the main character is a time traveller who travels to different times and completes small quests to progress to a different level.

You need to plan your time periods and you must have research to support your suggestion and explain what it will include.

You need to research these historical eras for how they looked and design a game that is historically accurate in its appearance. You will also need to test the game to make sure it works. The game can be played on a PC or tablet, but you will need to decide this early so that the right resources are available for the exhibition. The game should take a least five minutes to play, and no more than ten.
