Alisha House

"Mum decided to put me into Little Athletics as I was always on the go."Alyisha House, 2006

Alyisha was born on 15 November 1988 in Singleton, NSW, and moved to Wagga Wagga with her family when she was three years old. Alyisha, known as 'Leash', began her sporting career in 1999, after joining Kooringal-Wagga Little Athletics Club.  She quickly showed that she had all the qualities of a top-class athlete, distinguishing herself if many sporting disciplines, including track and field and touch football. However it was in the sport of Triple Jump that Alyisha excelled, taking it up at the age of eleven.  She enjoyed this sport from the beginning, and found it challenging. In 2001 and 2002 she was the NSW and Australian U13 Triple Jump record holder.  She represented Australia at the World Junior Championships (2004), the Commonwealth Youth Games (2004), at which she won gold, and at the Olympic Youth Festival (2005) where she took home a silver medal. In the 2004 – 2005 season Alyisha was ranked number one in Australia in Triple Jump, and 5th in the world in the open list.  She was also ranked 5th in the world U18 list. Today in 2016, Alyisha lives in Queensland.
