From All Four Corners
From All Four Corners: Stories of Migration to Wagga Wagga celebrates, explores and captures the personal stories of migrants coming to Wagga – both past and present, individual and group – who have helped make the culturally diverse city of today.
Wagga’s migration story will be examined through five themes:
Footsteps DISCOVER the lives of local immigrants through their stories and experiences associated with the journeys undertaken to their new home
Settling in EXPLORE some of the support networks available to new migrants arriving in Wagga – both historic and contemporary
Keeping the Faith CELEBRATE the communities created by migrants in their new home, and within the wider community
Making their Mark EXPERIENCE the positive impact migrants have had on Wagga as a city, and remember those who are no longer here, but have left an indelible mark nonetheless
New Future, New City IMAGINE what continued migration will bring to Wagga, see how new migrants are helping to shape the Wagga of tomorrow, and what new plans are being developed to help Wagga’s new residents
From All Four Corners was exhibited at Museum of the Riverina in 2007, in partnership with the Migration Heritage Centre. An online exhibition was created and can be viewed at the Migration Heritage Centre's website.
