About the workshop
Keeping Precious Photos Safe is a practical, hands-on workshop focused on caring for your family photographs and preserving them for the future.
Led by Museum of the Riverina collection and conservation professionals, this session will show you how to safely handle, store and protect photographs from damage caused by light, moisture and everyday wear. Participants are encouraged to bring along a small selection of their own photographs to work with during the workshop.
In this workshop you will:
- Learn museum-approved techniques for handling and storing photographs
- Understand how light, humidity and everyday use can damage photos
- Discover how to protect prints, albums and loose photographs at home
- Learn to use affordable, locally available materials for safe storage
- Gain confidence in caring for your photographic memories long-term
This workshop is ideal for anyone wanting to protect their photographs and ensure their memories can be enjoyed and shared for generations to come.
This workshop is part of a three-part series presented alongside STUFF: 100 Wild, Weird and Wonderful Objects from the Museum of the Riverina Collection.
