About the Exhibition

The Incredible Feminist of Wagga is a fictionalised retelling of the foundational years of the Wagga Wagga Women's Health Centre from 1979 to 1986.

In 1979, the women of Wagga are restless and unfulfilled. As they begin to question why, they uncover the invisible structures shaping their lives, realising they are constrined by a deeply routed patriatrchy. Guided by a set of principles focused on independence, collective care, and addressing the needs of women, a small group of Wagga women break away from societal expectations. They being sharing stories that had long been silenced.

What starts as quite conversation grows into a movement. Through determination and solidarity, they challenge institutional barriers, confront stigma around women's health, and carve out a space that is truly their own. In doing so, they not only transform their community but redefine what empowerment looks like for future generations.

Uncover a story of courage, resistance, and collective strength.
