Alyisha, known as “Leash”, was born in Singleton, NSW on 15 November 1988 and moved to Wagga Wagga with her family at the age of three.
She began her sporting journey in 1999 with the Kooringal-Wagga Little Athletics Club and quickly showed that she had all the qualities of a top-class athlete, distinguishing herself in many sporting disciplines, including track and field and touch football.
Mum decided to put me into Little Athletics as I was always on the go.

However it was in the sport of triple Jump that Alyisha excelled, taking up the event at just 11 years of age. She enjoyed this sport from the beginning, and found it challenging.
Alyisha went on to become the NSW and Australian Under 13 triple jump record holder in 2001 and 2002. Her achievements include representing Australia at the World Junior Championships and Commonwealth Youth Games in 2004, where she won gold, and the Olympic Youth Festival in 2005, where she won silver. During the 2004–2005 season, Alyisha was ranked number one in Australia for triple jump and fifth in the world on the open list, as well as fifth on the Under 18 world rankings.
As of 2016, Alyisha lives in Queensland.
