Long before the days of self-serve, the girls from the Laurel Hill Store and Post Office left home early on Monday morning and served in the shop of a mill town, measuring out flour and other goods and returning home on late Friday. Just imagine having your groceries delivered by horse and cart or buying from an Indian Hawker?
